Will a stairlift fit my staircase?
Almost every standard straight staircase can take one. The rail is measured and cut to your steps, and it sits to one side so the stairs stay usable. If your staircase turns a corner, we will advise on a curved solution at the survey.
How long does installation take?
A straight stairlift is normally installed in a few hours on the same day. There is no drilling into walls and no building work.
Is it safe for an elderly parent to use alone?
Yes. Every lift has a seatbelt, a stable cushioned seat, simple controls and sensors that stop the lift if anything is in the way. We take the family through it at handover.
Does it work during a power cut?
Yes. The lift runs on battery backup and will complete the journey and return safely even with the power off.
Can other people still use the stairs?
Yes. The seat, armrests and footrest fold up when the lift is parked, so the staircase is left clear.
